Given the dramatic changes on a macro-level; geopolitically, environmentally and economically; I believe that "Darwin's Theory of Evolution" applies to our businesses whereby it is not always the largest or strongest species that survives but one that can adapt to change. At Higa Industries, we are striving to develop a "corporate culture" that is resilient and flexible, in order to adjust to the needs of our customers, suppliers and dealing with ever changing external factors. More specifically, in our food business we have to adapt to a constantly changing consumer, whether it is taste, texture, visual presentation, generational, environmental and sustainability concerns etc. we must try to be on the "leading edge" to adapt and adopt food products, trends and concepts in order to stay relevant in this dynamic environment. I believe that our philosophy to be a "Global Food Solution Provider" allows us to transform from being a "buyer/ supplier" in the Institutional Food Industry, to becoming a strategic partner with our suppliers and customers, in order to develop mutually beneficial relationships to succeed in today's complex market place.
